WHAT ARE THE DETAILS?
The Ford Driving Dreams contest is open to students at ASPIRA Antonia Pantoja Charter School, ASPIRA Early College High School, ASPIRA Mirta Ramirez Computer Science High School, Curie Metropolitan High School, East Chicago Central High School, George Washington High School, and Roberto Clemente Community Academy. Designated classes in these schools will compete in an essay contest that asks “What Drives Your Dream?”
This two-stage contest will provide prizes for winning essays at each school (see “Essay Contest Prizes” section). The first place winner from each school will compete for a grand prize consisting of a $5,000 scholarship.
*ASPIRA Charter Schools will be considered as one participating high school.

Administrator: Comunicad, CCO Communications, Inc. d.b.a. Campbell Marketing and Communications (collectively “Administrator”)
Each high school will designate the grade level(s) for the contest. Students will be asked to complete the essay in a class designated by their school. The essay topic is as follows:
What Drives Your Dream?
Essay submissions should include response to the following:
- Tell us about your dream. Take a moment to think about how/where you see yourself in three or five years. If known, please share your long-term dream also.
- How will your dream positively impact others?
- What inspires your dream?
- Is there something you hope to achieve this school year to get you closer to your dream?
Each participating student will submit their essay through their school designated class. Five essay winners from each school will be selected by an external judging committee.
- Entries must not exceed 500 words.
- Grammar and spelling count! Proofread your work. Proofread it again. Have a teacher or parent proofread it one more time.
- In the upper LEFT corner of PAGE 1 you MUST include your name, age, grade level, name of your high school, your phone number and e-mail.
- Please use Times New Roman font size 12. No photos or graphics.
- Entries MUST be written in English.
- Essay MUST be written by student.
- Entries MUST be received by midnight central time, November 25, 2014
- Decision of the judges is final.
Your dream itself is not what will be judged. Rather, it will be your ability to convey your drive, inspiration, how it will positively impact others and the pathway you have in mind to turn your dream into a reality.
Judging will follow the process below:
Each school will select five essays, which will be reviewed by an external judging committee composed of local community leaders. The external judging committee will identify the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place essays from each school. These winners will receive prizes. The external committee will also select the grand prize winner among the top essay winners of each school.
Essay Contest Prizes:
Ford will award 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place prizes at each of the Chicago area high schools. The prizes are as follows:
1st Place: iPad and a $500 gift certificate
2nd Place: iPad and a $400 gift certificate
3rd Place: iPad and a $300 gift certificate
4th Place: iPad and a $200 gift certificate
5th Place: iPad and a $100 gift certificate
From the 1st place essay winners of each school a grand prize winner will be selected. The grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Disbursement of the scholarship award will be made directly to the university the student will be attending upon submitting proof of enrollment.

The Ford Driving Dreams Tour is implemented in Chicago in Partnership the U.S. Hispanic Leadership Institute and ASPIRA IL, Inc.
ALL WINNERS MUST RETURN SIGNED WAIVERS and WINNERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST HAVE A SIGNED PARENTAL WAIVER as a condition of receiving prizes.
Ford Motor Company reserves the right to reject any entry that it deems, in its sole discretion, to violate any of these content related requirements, in which case the entry will not be posted online and will be deleted without any notification.
