Ford Blue Oval Scholarships

Tour Press Kit
The Ford Driving Dreams Tour is designed to motivate students to complete high school on time and to pursue higher education. The Ford Motor Company Fund program targets high schools with a significant Latino student population and brings Ford Fund educational initiatives and partnerships to a community to create a deep impact.
The Tour includes financial assistance through scholarships and grants; high energy, motivational student assemblies; and a contest in which thousands of students are invited to share their dreams. The Tour launched in 2012 with the Irving Independent School District and has visited 22 high schools in Miami, North Texas, and Chicago reaching nearly 30,000 students. During 2015, the Tour will visit four additional high schools in North Texas.
2014-2015 Participating High Schools
Chicago: Antonia Pantoja Community Charter School, ASPIRA Early College High School, Curie Metropolitan high School, East Chicago Central High School, George Washington High School, Mirta Ramirez Computer Science High School, and Roberto Clemente Community Academy.
North Texas: Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School, H. Grady Spruce High School, Moisés E. Molina High School and South Hills High School.
Motivational Pep Rallies
An empowerment speaker shares his/her inspirational story and challenges students to be resilient and pursue their education during a pep rally at each school. Students also learn about the contest and the scholarships that are available to them.
Students submit an essay describing what drives their dream and how it will positively impact others for a chance to win prizes. The top essays will be selected by a panel of educators and community leaders. The contest reinforces the importance of education while pursuing a dream, and giving back to the community.
